SUBMITTING ARTWORK

THESE TIPS WILL ENSURE YOUR FILES ARE SUITABLE FOR DIGITAL PRODUCTION, SAVING YOU TIME.

common issues with submitted graphics artwork

We love to design, but we will also gladly accept submitted artwork. Submitting materials to a printer on disk, USB drive, or via electronic transmission can save time, or waste it. To prevent delays in getting your print job started, make sure you furnish us with clean files that don't need extra work. Here is a list of common problems when submitting digital files:

  • Fonts not linked/missing
  • Graphics not linked/missing
  • Color incorrectly specified
  • Images in RGB rather than CMYK mode
  • No color proof
  • Resolution too low

Please see below for detailed submission guidelines.

Contact us with any questions or concerns.

FONTS & LINKS

It is important to include all necessary fonts and links (images, logos, etc.) when sending us a file for printing.

• Supply or convert all used fonts to ensure proper reproduction.

• Supply all links used in your file. Embed links when necessary.

Most programs have a "Package" function that will create a folder with all necessary links and fonts for a design.

FILE TYPES

PDF or other vector files are preferred for printing. We can accept almost any file type. If you are unsure whether your file is acceptable, see the below list of common file types, or contact us.

VECTOR ART:

PDF, EPS, AI

RASTER OR BITMAP ART:

JPG, PSD, TIFF

BLEEDS

Bleeds ensure that color and images will run to the very edge of a page when printing. Please specify if you want your design to bleed.

• We can add a bleed if necessary, or you can include one in your artwork.

RASTER ART

Raster art includes: PSD, TIFF, JPEG, photos, and logos with raster graphics.

• Art Submitted at 1:1 (100%): resolution should be no less than
150 dpi.

• Art Submitted at 2:1 (50%):  resolution should be no less than
300 dpi.

Low-quality raster logos and other lineart can be recreated; photos cannot.

VECTOR ART

Vector images are scalable and greatly preferred for design work as they provide the highest-quality result. Vector art includes: PDF, AI, and
EPS files.

• See the "Fonts & Links" section for information on preparing vector art for submission.

• If the fonts cannot be packaged or sent, make the text into an outline.

COLOR

We do not recommend designing in an RGB color space; please convert to CMYK prior to submitting.

When color match is required, follow
these requirements:

• Provide all PMS colors when applicable.

• Provide accurate color samples of artwork being reproduced.
